Spiced Apple & Ginger Pudding

A light apple and ginger cake with an indulgent spiced toffee sauce.

COOKING

 

Oven: Pre-heat oven to 170°C/Gas Mark 3, remove sleeve and lid and place on a baking tray in centre of the oven. Cook for 15 minutes until piping hot and sauce is starting to bubble. Carefully remove from the oven and leave to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Serve with a dollop of vanilla ice cream.

If you are in a hurry, remove sleeve and lid,  Microwave cook for 1 minute on full power. Leave to stand for 1 minute before serving.

Do not reheat once cooked. These instructions are a guideline only as appliances may vary.

Keep refrigerated and use within 1 day of opening.

Sponge (70%): Candied Apple (16.65%) [Apple (80%), Sugar, Glucose Fructose Syrup], Dark Brown Sugar, Whole Milk, Plain Flour [Wheat Flour (Calcium Carbonate, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin)], Free Range Pasteurised Whole Egg, Unsalted Butter (Milk), Golden Syrup (Glucose Syrup), Black Treacle (Cane Molasses, Partially Inverted Refiners Syrup), Cinnamon (1.3%), Ground Ginger (0.51%), Nutmeg (0.26%). Raising Agent: Bicarbonate of Soda. 

Sauce (30%): Double Cream (Milk), Caramel (11%) [Sugar, Glucose -fructose Syrup, Water], Unsalted Butter (Milk), Cider Vinegar, Cornish Sea Salt, Ground Ginger (0.09%), Cinnamon (0.09%), Nutmeg (0.05%)
