Predicted dessert trends for Summer 2023

Based on previous years and general dessert trends, here are some possible dessert trends we could see this Summer;

1. Fruit-Based Desserts: With summer being the peak season for many fruits, it's likely that desserts featuring fresh fruits will be popular this summer. This could include fruit tarts, fruit salads, and fruit-based ice creams and sorbets. Why not try our new Baked Passion Fruit Cheesecake Cream pot, the perfect fruity dessert that is refreshing and indulgent.

2. Lighter and Healthier Desserts: As people become more health-conscious, there is an increasing demand for desserts that are lighter, lower in sugar, and made with healthier ingredients. This could include desserts made with natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup, or desserts with a focus on fresh, seasonal produce. We have just launched two new lighter little pots to our range, Chocolate & Hazelnut Praline Ganache and Choco Latte Ganache. For more info check out our blog.

3. Bold and Vibrant Colours: Bright and bold colours are always popular in the upcoming summer months, and this could extend to desserts as well. Desserts with vibrant colours like pink, yellow, and green could be popular, as well as desserts with bold and eye-catching designs.

4. Newstalgia: Combining classic or nostalgic flavours and ingredients with modern techniques and presentation, popular because they tap into people's nostalgia for familiar flavours and childhood memories, while also providing a modern and creative twist. Some examples of newstalgic desserts include popcorn-infused desserts, upscale s'mores, or a take on black forest, sticky toffee pudding and bakewell tart.

5. Desserts with a twist: Finally, desserts with a twist or a surprise element could be popular this summer. This could include desserts with unexpected flavours or textures, or desserts that are served in unique and creative ways. Social media is likely to play a big role in driving dessert trends this summer, as people share their latest food discoveries and creations online.
